RANGERS in a CONSERVANCY

home

It is advised that all types of conservancies appoint rangers for patrolling and proper control of the area.

Different types of rangers:

In smaller conservancies the members might prefer to do the patrols themselves and not appoint rangers.

In larger conservancies permanent rangers are appointed. Different landowners sometimes rotate their labourer s as rangers in the conservancies. Temporary rangers can also be appointed. Rangers who do free voluntary community service can also be used e.g. in townships.

Training

Most Nature Conservation Departments provide training to ensure that conservancy rangers are well trained and that high standards are met. Training is usually free but the conservancy are responsible for accommodation and food during training. Sponsors may be identified to provide support for training programmes.
